Thessaly has many interesting destinations, while the enotouristic possibilities and winery tours, although not that many, they are definitely notable.
Since the Ancient Greek era, the area has always been wine-related.
Thessaly is divided in five regional units: Larissa, Karditsa, Magnesia, Trikala and Sporades. Larissa produces PDO Rapsani, PDI Kranion and PDI Tirnavos. Trikala has no signature local wine, nor PDO, although Meteora has been historically considered as one remarkable wine-producing area.
