Kokkinos Winery
Kokkinos winery is located just 1,5 km from the city of Naousa, at Dalamari area and at an altitude of about 450 m. You can find it on the road to the traditional settlement of Arkochori.
The premises include the main vinification and bottling areas, an underground cellar and a traditional room for distillation and tasting. Ageing takes place in oak French barrels of 225 l and it takes from 12 to 18 months to be completed.
The first bottling took place in 2009. Stavros Kokkinos is considered to be the “youngest” wine maker in Naousa and, to date, he has chosen to offer two kinds of red wine: Kokkinos, a pure xinomavro, and Black Rooster, an elaborate combination of xinomavro and cabernet. The variety planted is Xinomavro.
The winery deploys privately-owned vineyards, but also vineyards of collaborating viticulturists, all located within the Protected Destination of Origin zone. The output per stremma is 750-800 kg. The winery’s annual production reaches the 50.000 bottles.
