Megapanos Winery
The main philosophy of Megapanos Winery is to produce small quantities of top quality wines that come from trusted wine-producing areas of Greece (PDO). The company always values and respects the local character of its products and takes into consideration the special characteristics of each year.
In 1990, Alexandros Megapanos realized his dream with the establishment of his own winery in Spata, Attica, which included bottling facilities and an oenological laboratory.
In 1997, the winery moved to privately owned new premises in Pikermi, Attica.
This Greek winery is located at the heart of the Mesogean plains, east of Mount Hymettus. It is only 20 km from the capital of Greece, Athens, and just 6 km from the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, therefore, it is easily accessed by the foreign visitors.
The owner’s educational background combines higher studies with practical implementation. He is a graduate of the Biochemical Engineering Department of the Institut Meurice, of the Haute École Lucia de Brouckère in Brussels, where he specialized in Fermentation Industries. He subsequently went to Bordeaux where he studied Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Bordeaux II and worked for several wineries in France and Greece.
